Welcome to the LocationAwareWiki. This wiki is a work in progress, so stay tuned.
Getting Started
Based on the recent growth of location-based services and content, the need to deliver reliable and accurate location to those websites has emerged. The LocationAware Working Group aims to standardize the way in which location is determined, controlled and accessed in a secure browsing environment.
The goal of the project is to work closely with the leading browser vendors and implementers to make location aware browsing a reality. By standardizing the way in which browsers determine the user's location, how the user's privacy is controlled and the way in which a website requests that information, we hope to increase the overall adoption and growth of location-based services on the web.
